Early Intervention
Any parent or guardian can ask for a developmental assessment of their birth to three-year-old child by calling Cape Cod Child Development's Early Childhood Intervention Program. An assessment will be scheduled and conducted in your home to determine his/her strengths and needs and to determine if your family is eligible for services. The team will arrive with a box of toys, and will work with you to get the most complete picture they can from playing with your child, observing him/her, and talking with you. If eligible, the Early Intervention staff then offers a family-centered team approach where services are delivered in the natural environments of the child and his family. This may include your home, a childcare site, a playground, a local playgroup, the beach or another community setting. One professional is assigned as the primary service coordinator, and she will provide a full range of resources, support and developmental services. The family and Early Intervention professional will develop and implement an individualized plan together that addresses the priorities of each family.
For Additional Information or to Schedule an Assessment, please call the Early Intervention Program at 800-974-8860 x450. |
