Preschool/Head Start

Who: Children ages 2.9 to 5 years old

What: Comprehensive early childhood and child care programs for eligible families

A whole-family approach is at the heart of our Preschool/Head Start program. Our dedicated and highly-qualified staff will support your family through a host of services that focus on your child’s school readiness by promoting the total wellbeing of your entire family.

We are always looking for new ways to support your participation in your child’s learning and development. Monthly home visits and onsite parent activities create opportunities for a classroom-home connection that is strong and supportive to your family and child. Your voice is essential in shaping the support your family and child receives.

Full- and part-day programs are built around your child’s strengths and highlight activities and experiences that improve their academic skills as well as social-emotional and physical development—all important for future success in learning. Music and movement, nutritional education, a "reading buddy" program, and field trips to community sites mean that your child is learning new skills everyday while building relationships with young friends and caring adults.

We believe your child’s physical wellness is essential to their readiness for Kindergarten. We conduct regular health screenings to determine their physical, dental, developmental and behavioral needs. Special needs and mental health services and support are readily available.

Our program has been designated by the Department of Early Education and Care as a Universal Pre-Kindergarten program—a recognition of the highest standard of quality. Now more than ever we can help you meet your family’s needs while nurturing your child’s full development and ultimately ensuring their future academic success.

Families may qualify for state-subsidized, sliding-scale fees to access programs, or apply for our agency's scholarship funds. We also accept vouchers.
