Hyannis, MA, May 20, 2009 – Cape Cod Child Development is pleased to announce today that it has received a $20,000 grant from the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust—the private foundation created by CVS Caremark Corporation—for grant support toward the agency’s Early Intervention program for young children with developmental disabilities and delays.
The donation to Cape Cod Child Development is part of CVS Caremark Charitable Trust’s $4.2 million in grant funding to organizations supporting children with disabilities and those who are under-insured or uninsured.
“There is great benefit for parents and children who participate in the Early Intervention program for children with developmental disabilities and delays,” stated the agency’s Director of the Early Intervention program, Barbara Prindle Eaton. “We are pleased to receive support from the business community and particularly, CVS Caremark Charitable Trust to help both parents and children navigate the life-long challenges brought on by one of many disabilities or developmental challenges.”
Cape Cod Child Development’s Early Intervention program provides critical support to infants and toddlers, birth to age 3, who possess or are at high risk for a physical, developmental, behavioral or emotional condition or delay.
“In today’s economic climate it’s more important than ever to support organizations that can have a positive impact on children with disabilities and their families,” said Eileen Howard Dunn, Vice President, CVS Caremark Charitable Trust. “The CVS Caremark Charitable Trust selected Cape Cod Child Development because its programming aligns with our mission to promote inclusion, increase access to medical therapies and improve academic performance of children with disabilities.”
