New Officers Appointed to Board of Trustees of Cape Cod Child Development

Hyannis, MA December 1, 2010 – Mary Pat Messmer, Executive Director of Cape Cod Child Development and Dr. Barbara Desguin, exiting Board President, were pleased to announce new appointments to the agency’s board of trustees.

Will Rubenstein, Owner/Director of Camp WingateKirkland, has been appointed Board President; Mary Pat Piersons, Executive Director of A Baby Center, has been appointed Board Vice President; Matthew Bresette, Attorney with Nutter, McClellen and Fish will serve as Board Treasurer; and Barbara Gargiulo, will serve as Board Secretary/Clerk.

Mr. Rubenstein, a board trustee with Cape Cod Child Development since 2007 brings an enthusiasm for the role, a love for the Cape, and professional background that includes more than ten years working with young children. In 2004, Will and his wife, Sandy, purchased Camp WingateKirkland, a co-residential camp founded in 1957, located in Yarmouth Port, where they now serve as co-directors. They are year-round residents of Cape Cod.

“I am honored to expand my commitment to youth development by becoming President of Cape Cod Child Development's board of directors,” stated Mr. Rubenstein. “Hundreds of Cape and Islands families are being transformed due to the passionate work of Mary Pat and her 200+ staff. Thanks to them and the rest of our hard-working board, I have the easy job—cheerlead, grow the board, and advocate for children and families of Cape Cod and the Islands.”
