 Teen Parent Program

This program works to counsel, educate, and support teens Cape-wide as they incorporate the role of parent into an already challenging time in their lives. Our Teen Parent Coordinator works with families to provide a host of services including: outreach and referral, peer group support, individual counseling, life skills training, parent education, and transportation to appointments, as well as full-time, quality child care services for those teen parents who qualify.

Criteria for acceptance into the program include: teens must be 19 years or younger, must be enrolled in a high school or GED program, or have a high school diploma or GED and must be working and/or attending school for at least 20 hours per week. Once enrolled, the parent is required to meet with a program counselor three hours a month, attend a monthly group meeting, and spend two hours each month with their child(ren) in a family day care home or center-based child care setting.

For More Information, please call our Teen Parent Coordinator at (800) 974-8860 x321.
